Trip Report - Sharm El-Sheikh

by Fiona Richardson

Sam and I have had a fantastic trip to Sharm el Sheikh with Camel Diving. After a fantastic welcome in the hotel and a good night's sleep, we started five days of diving. We were on my favourite boat (Camel Tribe) and were joined by a pair of lovely divers from Newcastle to make up our little group. With only 12 divers on the boat, it was very relaxed, lots of space and the boat team really attentive. The air temperature reached 40c with the water being 25c so jumping in was a real pleasure.

We dived in both Tiran and Ras Mohammad, seeing a white tipped shark (wow!), many turtles, eagle ray, eels and lots of lots of beautiful fish. My new super duper underwater glasses (see-deep.com is the brand) meant I was spotting small things I previously could hardly see, such as many nudibranchs and brightly coloured swimming flat worms. Of course, big things were also really big and seemed very close!

Sadly, I broke my camera housing on the second day, so I've limited photos, but I have a cool pic of two kissing turtles.

A great week - lots of awesome diving, laughter, new friends and strawberry daiquiris!
