Richmond Sub-Aqua Club (RSAC)

RSAC was founded in 1986 as a Branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC).  BSAC is the biggest and the most widely recognised amateur diving organisation globally.  BSAC’s training and safety standards are second to none and are used as a benchmark by other diving organisations around the world.  BSAC’s primary strength lies in its club/branch system run on a not-for-profit basis.

We have around 100 members, including 15 Advanced/Open Water Instructors and a further dozen Assistant Diving Instructors.  Our Instructor team are keen to teach and help in all aspects of diving and diving equipment  – there will always be someone who has done it before and is willing to pass on their knowledge and experience.

The Club is run by a Committee elected by our members at the Annual General Meeting.

BSAC Benefits

Being part of BSAC, the governing body of scuba diving in the UK, offers a host of concrete benefits to RSAC's members, such as free monthly subscription to SCUBA magazine, free world-wide third-party liability insurance, discounts in BSAC shop and on diving holidays.

Club Night

Club night is every Wednesday evening. We have exclusive use of the pool 9-10pm at Pools on the Park in Richmond. We encourage all members to attend Club nights both to practise and improve their skills and kit familiarity in the pool (length: 33m/100ft), and to meet and socialise with other club members.

When not using the pool for training purposes, many of our members also use the pool for lane swimming as part of their personal fitness/wellbeing programmes.

Diving

Dives are organised throughout the year for training, experience and for fun.  We have our own Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) and also dive using skippered boats.  Every year longer trips are arranged to places like the Red Sea, Cyprus, Lanzarote, Malta and Scotland.

Social

RSAC is a particularly sociable club holding well attended social events such as barbecues, bowling, paint balling, restaurant visits and nights out in the pub.  After our pool sessions on Wednesday nights a visit to the Sun Inn for a drink and an opportunity to discuss your latest diving exploits is pretty much a must!
